DAVID J. HOLLANDER
I graduated from Brooklyn Law School in New York City in 1976. After working in New York for about a year and a half, I moved to Portland in 1978. I spent about three and a half years working for Galton, Popick and Scott, a mid-sized firm that represented workers and their unions in the workplace. My responsibilities included personal injury, labor, employment and workers' compensation law. I opened my practice in 1982 and have continued to represent clients with issues in those areas in both State and Federal Court.
I have been admitted in all the courts of the states of Oregon and New York. I have also been admitted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. I am a member of The Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, The American Trial Lawyers Association, The National Employment Lawyers Association and The Association for Union Democracy.
Over the years I have represented at least 2500 clients in cases against large employers such as Boise Cascade, Safeway, Nike, the City of Portland, the State of Oregon, J.C. Penny and others. I have learned that the thing that people want most (apart from winning) is to be able to understand the process and the laws that apply to their case. At times the legal system can seem daunting and confusing. I pride myself on my tenacity, informality and street smarts but most of all on my ability to plainly explain the issues so that you can make intelligent choices. I welcome the opportunity to explain your rights to you.
